Gardens

When you first come to Victoria your initial impression is that the whole city is a garden. You will find flowers and gardens just about every street you go down. These gardens listed below take it a step further. They are immaculate, varied and unique. Stepping into them is like closing your eyes and having the best dream you have ever had. At times you may even ask yourself if this is real or imagined.

The Butchart Gardens is Victoria's premier attraction, it is a must see.

The Butchart Gardens

World renowned and Victoria's #1 attraction. Many, many acres of paths, fountains and valleys teeming with colourful flowers displayed in unique elegance. They have a band shell with live entertainment, concessions and restaurants, picnic lunches and during the summer has a fireworks display every Saturday evening.

Abkhazi Garden

Prince and Princess Abkhazi started this garden in 1946 and became open to the public after their deaths and the land was handed over The Land Conservancy. Explore this mature garden that takes advantages of the natural geography of the area.

Hatley Park

On the Grounds next to Hatley Castle are several acres of themed gardens (rose garden, Japanese garden and Italian garden). As part of your tour of the castle or you can just visit the garden separately, you can enjoy the detail and serenity these gardens are known for.

Beacon Hill Park

Large section of land donated to the city of Victoria for public use in 1882. Manicured colourful gardens and landscape that will take you by duck ponds, heron nests and stone bridges.
